Born and raised in Ticonderoga, NY, Karen graduated from Champlain College then spent 10 years working in medical offices in Florida. Missing the Northeast, she returned in 1982 and was hired as the secretary/receptionist here. She has held a variety of positions since, including the role of Cheese & Catalog Manager. She became the Inn Director in 1997, which she feels is the icing on the cake of her employment here. For her, every day is a new day when she walks into the Inn. She has the opportunity to develop relationships with guests, whether it's their first visit or tenth; she gets to hear children who have just returned from the Farmyard and feel their excitement; she deals with the eccentricities of an old building (but she loves every square inch it — even when it means cleaning up a water leak, or worse); and she gets to work with a great team. She is an avid reader and enjoys weekly outings with her Farm golfing buddies.
