Nat Bacon is the Head Cheesemaker at Shelburne Farms. He first started at the Farm in 1995, and has worked both at the Dairy and in Cheesemaking. Nat grew up in the Boston area, first worked on a farm in college, and has been involved with agriculture ever since. He graduated from UVM with a degree in Sustainable Agriculture, has been a consultant to crop producers and organic dairy farmers, and has worked on a wide variety of farms including dairy, livestock, and vegetable production. He enjoys seeing how the cheese changes by season, teaching visitors about the sun to cheese story, and riding tractors with his own kids.
