Are divisive battles the only way to make change today? Why can't democratic decision making be more like slow food – local, organic, and full of the vibrant creative spirit of home? It can.

With a future that is more and more focused on local food, local energy, and local economies, surely we will need to hone our skills in local decision-making. Slow democracy techniques help make communities more resilient, and difficult community conversations more satisfying, productive and – dare we even imagine it? – Fun.

Join Susan Clark for an evening filled with stories and conversation about communities across the U.S. that are making their local decision making processes more inclusive, deliberative, and empowered. Leave with practical techniques for increasing participation and civility in your own community discussions.

Copies of Susan’s book, Slow Democracy: Rediscovering Community, Bringing Decision Making Back Home, will be available for sale and signing.
