Christie is responsible for coordinating school programs on and off site. Using the big ideas of education for sustainability, and working with the Shelburne Farms education team, she helps develop, facilitate, and evaluate programming for youth through school programs and summer camps. Christie also assists with professional development for area educators including the Watershed for Every Classroom program in partnership with the Champlain Basin Education Initiative.
Christie holds a B.A. in Secondary Education from the University of Maine and an M.A. in History from the University of Vermont. Prior to joining the education team at Shelburne Farms, she taught in the United States and abroad, most recently as an English teacher in Nedryhailiv, Ukraine where she also focused on gender and development efforts. In addition, Christie serves on the SWEEP (State Wide Environmental Education) board where she enjoys connecting with educators from across the state.
