There are nearly as many ways to support Shelburne Farms as there are needs to be met. Here are several options that you might consider when thinking about supporting the Farm.
Gifts In-Kind: The Farm will sometimes accept donations of tangible personal property such as vehicles, artwork, and farm equipment — gifts that are marketable, free of encumbrances or needed by the Farm for use consistent with our nonprofit mission.
Gift Membership: Looking for a unique, local gift for your friends or family? Why not share the magic of Shelburne Farms by giving someone special a membership, valid for a full year of memories.
Matching Gift: Some people work for companies, such as IBM, Ben & Jerry’s, and Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, that match employee charitable contributions. Check to see if your employer has a matching gift program and if they do, please submit the appropriate paperwork to them when you make your gift to the Farm.
Memorial & Honorary Gift: People sometimes make a gift to the Farm in memory of a loved one who has passed away, or a gift to honor a living person, often to recognize a special occasion such as a birthday, wedding, or holiday. When you do either, we’ll send notification to the recipient or family members telling them of your thoughtful memorial or honorary gift.
Real Estate: Under the right circumstances, the Farm may accept gifts of real estate, including homes, farms, or camps that are marketable and unencumbered. Sometimes we’ll also consider accepting these gifts with a remainder interest, which provides you, the donor, the right to continue using and maintaining the property for your life or an agreed upon number of years.
Sponsorships: Shelburne Farms acknowledges the generosity of donors in a variety of ways. Sponsorships and other named gift opportunities are at the sole discretion of the Shelburne Farms Board of Directors.
Wire Transfer: The Farm does accept gifts via wire transfer, but please first call Clara Nold in our Accounting Office 802-985-0338, to let us know the gift is coming. She will provide you with the Farm’s bank contact information and 9-digit electronic routing number.
