Shelburne Farms Resiliency Fund

  • The Resiliency Fund will strengthen the Farm as a whole.
  • The fund was established to honor the Old Dairy Barn (foreground), which was part of the Breeding Barn complex on the Southern Acres portion of the property.
  • On September 11, the Old Dairy Barn was struck by lightning and burned to the ground.

Start: September 13, 2016

A Fund created following the loss of the Old Dairy Barn which burned to the ground on September 11, 2016.  A special collection of lumber was also lost in the fire.  The Fund will help with expenses not covered by insurance and support additional fire protection improvements, new tree plantings, and campus planning for residential programming on the Farm.  Currently, the Farm does not have plans to rebuild the Old Dairy Barn.

The Farm has been so grateful for the outpouring of community support in the wake of the fire. See letter from President Alec Webb about the fire on our blog.
