The first of four consecutive indoor concerts performed at Shelburne Farms by the Vermont-based Burlington Ensemble. This first program highlights a short wedding composition by Finnish composer Jean Sibelius, three rustic concertos by Antonio Vivaldi from L'Estro Armonico (considered the most “influential” repertoire of the 18th century), and concludes with a highly romanticized octet by Max Bruch. All concerts benefit Vermont FEED, a statewide Farm to School program that provides food, farming, and nutrition education programs in classrooms, cafeterias, and communities. (Shelburne Farms is a partner).

2013 Festival Artists performing at Shelburne Farms include Sofia Hirsch (violin and Burlington Ensemble Co-Artistic Director), Michael Dabroski (violin and Burlington Ensemble Co-Artistic Director), Rachel Lee (violin), Zoya Tsvetkova (violin), Letitia Quante (vioin), Elizabeth Reid (viola), Peter Sulski (viola), Ariana Falk (cello), John Dunlop (cello), Rachel Calin (double bass), Evan Premo (double bass), David Kaplan (piano) and Elizabeth Metcalfe (harpsichord).
