Future of Learning Design Studio II: Designing for Equity in Civic Engagement
Join with educators, students, and community partners at the Vermont History Museum for a day-long workshop and design studio on March 18th. This is the second event in a series of offerings focused on place-based learning that integrates personalized learning plans (PLPs), flexible pathways and proficiency based graduation requirements. The day will provide experiences with powerful integrated learning partnerships, opportunities to build connections between educators and community partners, and a facilitated curriculum design process.
Each Design Studio offers a unique place/space to focus on a specific theme with local community partners around the state. Our goal is to promote sustainability, equity and joy as essential outcomes of learning. Join us for one or more of these offerings; learn more here.
We welcome educators, students and community partners to join us! The emphasis is on middle and high school learning, but elementary educators are more than welcome to come. We encourage teaching teams to join us to develop integrative learning experiences. Invited student teams will provide feedback and collaborative guidance during the design process. Participants will experience shared learning around PLPs and civic engagement in Vermont in the morning, then have the opportunity to use design thinking to address a current need or piece of work they bring in the afternoon.
This program is offered through our work with Vermont Learning for the Future.Registration Details:
