Lenses on the Land
Ignite your passion for making inspiring and unusual photographs during this afternoon and evening workshop with experienced instruction. The buildings, landscape and coastline of Shelburne Farms, illuminated by the sun and moon, will be your subjects. A camera with manual shutter control, a tripod, and remote shutter release will be necessary for moonlight photos.
Marshall Webb started helping his father with ‘chores’ at Shelburne Farms at the age of 3. By the age of 8 he was driving tractors and jeeps in support of the summer hay harvest. He attended Wesleyan University and earned a BA in French from UVM in 1972. That same year, he and his siblings started the nonprofit educational organization that now owns and operates the Farm. Over the years, he has held many positions here, from field hand, to milker, to assistant cheesemaker, and Carbon Drawdown Coordinator. He has served on the boards of several local non-profits. His wife, Kate, is one of the Shelburne representatives in the State legislature, and they have four daughters. Marshall’s favorite hobby is photography (especially of the farm!), and his favorite sports are snow and water skiing.
Sebastian Ventrone has been a photographer for 40 years, starting his journey with a Nikon FM with guidance from his father (also a part time professional photographer). For the last twelve years, Sebastian has shifted over to the digital realm, loving the control and feedback of the modern SLRs. Sebastian’s passion is landscape, macros, and the endless subjects of our natural and manmade world. Sebastian enjoys passing his knowledge to other photographers and sharing in their photography journey.
Anne-Marie Littenburg took up photography to illustrate two books and numerous publications she has authored in another medium, fiber art (specifically rug hooking). Specializing in landscapes and pictorials in fiber art, she teaches art workshops around the country and applies the same concepts of composition, color, and contrast to her photography. While her greatest joy is photographing landscapes, she also has developed a specialty in shooting fiber and 2D art for clients needing images for publications and jury submissions.
