In Of Land and Local’s fifth installment, Burlington City Arts Center further explores the concept of watershed by connecting concentric circles of community ranging from the regional to international perspectives, and contextualizing local water issues within a global environment. Watershed themes will investigate ideas of place, conservation, commodification, and water’s cultural role within community. Select artists from previous Of Land & Local exhibitions will be invited to return and revisit the theme along with new artists from Vermont and the surrounding region.

As an ongoing partnership between the Farm and Burlington City Arts, Of Land & Local combines the missions of both organizations and supports artist led conversations about social, ethical, and political issues impacting the Vermont landscape, culminating in exhibitions at both locations.

Concurrent to Of Land & Local: Watershed, we’re pleased to present a photography exhibit featuring juried work by participants in our long-time “Lenses on the Land” program at the Farm.

Thank you to our exhibition and event sponsors Farrell Distributing, Have Your Cake Catering, and Fluid Bar Service. BCA Exhibitions are funded in part by a grant from the Vermont Arts Council, National Endowment for the Arts, and The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.
