Vermont Open Farm Week
During Vermont Open Farm Week, you can meet the farmers, plants, and animals that bring your favorite high-quality Vermont products to your plate. The greatest part about Open Farm Week is that you can visit one farm, or several and have completely unique experiences.
“Last year’s Open Farm Week drew hundreds of people out to farms, and gave many farmers who don’t typically open their doors to the public a chance to welcome visitors. It was a beautiful, busy week and we’re so excited that there is enthusiasm from farmers, organizers and the public to host the event again.” - Vera Simon-Nobes works at Shelburne Farms as the Farm-Based Education Network and Agritourism Project Coordinator. She serves on the Open Farm Week Organizing Committee and is the Farm to Plate Network Agritourism Task Force Co-Chair.
Join us on Wednesday, August 16th for a Garden Party at the Children’s Farmyard from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM. The garden in the Children’s Farmyard at Shelburne Farms is full of possibilities. Join farmyard educators for a harvesting adventure, then concoct tasty kitchen creations! The Garden Party will last approximately 1/2 hour. It is included in general admission fee for the property; no special tickets are required.
