A beautiful historic home where every room and cottage is unique.

Each bedroom and cottage at the Inn is uniquely laid out, decorated, and furnished. You can come back time and again and enjoy a different experience each time, but always in the same welcoming, relaxed atmosphere.

READ IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR STAY
  • The Inn does not have central heating or air conditioning. While we do everything we can to keep guests comfortable, please be aware that Vermont can be quite hot in the summer and chilly in the spring and fall.   
  • Upper floors are accessed by stairs, not elevators. All main house guest bedrooms are upstairs and there are no elevators. Our staff will be delighted to assist with your baggage. Some of our cottages offer more accessibility. 
  • Wi-fi is available in the ground floor common rooms.
  • Guest bedrooms do not have televisions or radios.  
  • Some rooms have historic bathtubs that can be difficult to get in and out of.
  • Please no pets.

Blue Room

The Blue Room has two twin beds, a color scheme dating back to its early days, and a beautiful view of the meadows east of the Inn. It originally formed a bedroom and sitting room suite with the adjoining Tower Room, and can today be reserved with the Tower Room as a two-bedroom suite. The room has a private bathroom with a claw-foot tub and shower.

Brown Room

The spacious Brown Room has splendid views of the Flower Gardens, Lake Champlain, and the Adirondacks, two twin beds and a private bathroom with tub and shower. It was originally the bedroom of Vanderbilt Webb. It features a suite of marquetry furniture that features sycamore and holly inlaid in mahogany.

Cherry Room

The comfortable Cherry Room is close to the stairway leading to the Game Room, where room guests often gathered for fun. The room has two twin beds and shares two bathrooms in the hallway with the Gable and Red Rooms. Booked together, the three rooms create a great family suite. 

Colonial Room

The Colonial Room overlooks the north end of the Formal Gardens and its wooded pathways. It features Colonial Revival style architecture and furniture, including a wing chair, spiral-turned bed posts, and colored prints original to the room. Dutch Room

The Dutch Room is a wonderful, light, and airy room that has two twin beds and lovely views of the Formal Gardens and Lake Champlain. The former fireplace is adorned with original Dutch tin-glazed earthenware tiles that also used to form a wide border around the floor. The Dutch Room shares a bathroom in the hall with the Oak Room that has a claw-foot tub and shower.

East Room

The East Room, with its queen bed and delightful easterly meadow view looking toward Lone Tree Hill, was originally a nursery for the Webb children. During the rehabilitation of the Inn in 1987, an adjacent hallway was enclosed to connect the room to a private bathroom, which has a deep soaking tub and shower.

Empire Room

The Empire Room looks across the Formal Gardens to the lake and has a full bed and private bathroom with shower only. The Empire style is characterized by imperial colors and motifs and all of the furnishings are original to the room. It may be reserved with Louis XVI Room to form a two-bedroom suite.

Gable Room

The Gable Room has two twin beds and views of the Flower Gardens. It often housed Webb guests who would head down the north stairs to the Game Room in the evening for some fun. Gable shares two hall bathrooms with the Red and Cherry Rooms. Booked together, these rooms create a great suite for a family.

Glass House

Located on a bluff with a spectacular view of Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains, the Glass House was built as a summer residence in the 1960s. It features a main bedroom with a private bath, two additional bedrooms with twin beds and a shared bath, a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, two light-filled living rooms, patio with a gas grill, and a deck overlooking the lake. The house lies behind the Inn and Flower Gardens, just a five-minute walk from the Inn’s front door.

Gray Room

The Gray Room originally housed some of the Webbs' many guests, delighting them with its easterly views of the farm’s meadows and woodlands surrounding Lone Tree Hill. It has a queen bed and private bathroom with an original claw-foot tub and shower, and may be reserved with the Violet Room as a two-bedroom suite.

Green Room

The Green Room has sitting areas with views of Lake Champlain and the Coach Barn, as well as a writing desk, a king-size bed, and a large bathroom featuring an original claw-foot bathtub and shower. The Art Nouveau inspired wallpaper was recreated from a textile used in the room in 1915. The Green Room can be reserved with the White Room as a two-bedroom suite.

Lilac Room

The lovely Lilac Room has a comfortable sitting area with marvelous westerly views: enjoy the sunsets across the Adirondack Mountains and lake. The room has a queen bed and an attached private bathroom with a newly installed glass-shower enclosure.  The reproduction wallpaper is reminiscent of the original pattern.

Louis XVI Room

The Louis XVI Room has a beautiful view of the Formal Gardens and Lake Champlain. With its original furnishings, pastel colors, and floral patterns, it looks much as it did at the turn of the 20th century, when the Louis XVI style was popular. It has a full bed and private bathroom with a deep soaking tub and shower. The Louis Room may be reserved with the adjoining Empire Room as a two-bedroom suite.

Oak Room

This charming room is furnished with simple oak furniture, much like the pieces used to furnish Ne-Ha-Sa-Ne, the Webbs' lodge in the Adirondack Mountains across the lake. The Oak Room offers delightful views of the lake and Formal Gardens with comfortable accommodations for two in a full bed. It shares a bathroom in the hall (with the Dutch Room), that has a claw-foot tub and shower.

Overlook Room

Formerly Lila Webb’s expansive bedroom, Overlook boasts a king size bed, writing desk, and a sitting area for you to enjoy incredible views across the Flower Gardens, Coach Barn, and Lake Champlain. The private bathroom, added during the 1980s restoration, includes a modern tub and shower. Overlook may be reserved with the South Room and/or the Webb Room to create a two or three-bedroom suite.

Pink Room

Located on the third floor, the quiet and comfortable Pink Room has a cozy sitting area that overlooks the Formal Gardens and Lake Champlain. It has a queen bed and a private bathroom with a claw-foot tub and shower. The wallpaper, modeled after the original, was recreated as part of the renovation in the 1980s.

Pottery Cottage

Renovated as a guest cottage in 1992, the Pottery features a queen bed, living area, kitchenette, private bath (shower only), and a shaded patio. Located just north of the Inn, the building had earlier been used as a pottery shed by Aileen Webb, an accomplished painter, wood sculptor, and potter, and lifelong advocate for crafts and craftspeople.

Red Room

Tucked in the northeast corner of the house, the cozy Red Room has unforgettable views of the lawns, Flower Gardens, Lake Champlain and Adirondack Mountains. Furnished with a queen bed, it shares two hall bathrooms with the Gable and Cherry Rooms.

The Rose Room is one of the most spacious rooms in the Inn, with a sitting area overlooking the Flower Gardens and Lake Champlain. Once Frederica Webbs' bedroom, it is has a full bed similar to its original, as well as a private bathroom with an original deep soaking tub and shower, original fixtures, and an enormous closet. The Rose Room may be reserved with the West Room to form a two-bedroom suite.

South Room

The South Room has a lovely view of the Coach Barn and Lake Champlain, and has two twin beds and a private bathroom with tub and shower. The fireplace tiles inspired the colors of the upholstery and draperies. It originally formed a bedroom suite with Overlook Room, and may still be reserved with Overlook. The Webb Room also may be added to the reservation to form a three-bedroom suite.

Tower Room

The Tower Room, with its beautiful meadow views, originally formed a bedroom suite with the adjoining Blue Room, which was the sitting room. The Tower Room may be reserved with the Blue Room as a two-bedroom suite.

Treehouse Cottage

This charming bungalow is nestled among the trees overlooking Lake Champlain just a short walk up a grassy hill from its private parking spot. Built around 1890, and originally known as the "Tea House," it has a bedroom and living area with a queen bed, small kitchenette, three-season porch dining area, an outdoor porch overlooking the lake with a gas grill, and tiny bath with a very low ceiling and glass shower enclosure. It's your private cottage minutes away from the Inn on foot.

Vineyard Cottage (year round)

This year-round, Robertson-designed cottage lies on a knoll overlooking the amazing Breeding Barn, about three miles from the inn. It has a wonderful view of the lake and the Adirondacks in the distance, a fully equipped kitchen, two sitting rooms, and three upstairs bedrooms: one with a king bed, one with two twins, and a smaller bedroom with one twin bed. All share one full bathroom with a tub and shower on the second floor.

Violet Room

From the Violet Room, you can enjoy sweet sunrises over the the farm’s meadows and Lone Tree Hill to the east. Originally a guest room, it has two twin beds and a private bathroom with a large shower, located just across the hall. The Violet Room may be reserved with the Gray Room as a two-bedroom suite.

Webb Room

The large Webb Room has a Renaissance Revival style queen bed, lovely lake and mountain views, and a private bathroom with tub and shower. When it served as Dr. Webb's bedroom, a spiral staircase was added to the valet's room above. The Webb Room may be reserved with the White Room and/or the Overlook Room to form a two- or three-bedroom suite.

West Room

The West Room has a queen bed, a lovely view west across the Flower Gardens, lake, and Adirondacks, and a private bathroom with shower only. When the Webb children were young, their nurse slept here, with easy access to both the Rose Room (Frederica’s bedroom), and the Brown Room (a nursery, then Vanderbilt’s bedroom). The West can be reserved with the Rose Room as a two-bedroom suite.

White Room

The White Room has a king bed, writing desk, and sitting area with beautiful views of Lake Champlain, the Adirondacks, and the Flower Gardens. A "middle" room connects to the private bathroom, which has an original claw-foot tub with shower. Behind a locked door in the this room is a small staircase to the Webb Room below. The White Room may be reserved with the Green and/or Webb Room to form a two or three-bedroom suite.

Yellow Room

The recently renovated Yellow Room served as a guest room at the turn of the 20th century. The main room has two twin beds, a writing desk, and a spacious sitting area, with a small adjoining room furnished with a twin bed. Several steps lead down to the bathroom, designed so that chambermaids could enter without disturbing the room’s occupants.
