Seasonal Dining Room Manager (Dinner Shift)

Supervisor:  Farm Food and Beverage Services Manager

Employee Status:  Seasonal, Full-Time hours

Exemption: Hourly, Non-Exempt

Location: On-site (99 Inn Road, Shelburne, VT 05482)

Start & End Date: May - October

Pay Rate: $25 - $30/hour

Work Schedule: 4-5 days per week, open 7 days/week (Dinner Shift: 3PM - 11PM)

Housing: Free on-site housing available the swing shift manager role (must be available to work both Breakfast and Dinner shift for housing option)

What You’ll Do 

  • Assist inn management team in exceeding guest expectations and creating and executing an operating model that acknowledges the importance of happy, healthy staff in delivering on the promise to “welcome, care for, and inspire” the Farms’ many guests.
  • Hiring, training, and supervising breakfast service team to achieve an exceptional standard of service in the Marble Dining Room and for daytime events. 
  • Assist the Dining and Beverage Manager with maintenance of POS system, updating of all menu items, generating & maintenance of daily reports and morning  tip-pool.
  • Overseeing pre-season setup and postseason breakdown of pantry/dining room
  • Responsible for meeting breakfast budget and service goals 
  • Providing food & beverage education to service staff 
  • Assisting Dining and Beverage Manager with shift coverage as needed. 
  • Advance Shelburne Farms food goals and vision

 

Core Qualifications

●       Restaurant and staff  management experience with particular emphasis on farm to plate dining establishments. 

  • Thorough knowledge of food and beverage
  • Inventory management experience

●       Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

●       Excellent guest service acumen and strong written/verbal communications skills

●       Understanding of and enthusiasm for the Farm’s mission, core values and business model

●       Experience with POS and online reservation systems.

 

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Physically demanding work in a setting that lacks air conditioning in the summer months 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced dining room setting
