This seasonal role will help with the busy field work throughout the spring season.  Explore the forest stands and field edges of Shelburne Farms while hand pulling garlic mustard.  Garlic mustard is an invasive species that does not mesh with our forest stewardship goals. We have been working to keep this species from dominating the forest floor since 2012.  You will cover terrain that is off the “beaten path” at the Farm, discover hidden beaches, find forest mushrooms, and cross paths with a few cows along the way! 

 As the Welcome Center Guest Services & Sales Associate, you will directly support the mission of Shelburne Farms by connecting our visitors and guests with our local farm products, the programs offered across the farm, and the many ways to explore the farm. You have a passion for agriculture, and while you may not have previously worked on a farm, you’re enthusiastic about sharing farm products with the community. 

This position directly contributes to Shelburne Farms’ mission to inspire and cultivate learning for a sustainable future by providing administrative and clerical support to the fundraising operations at Shelburne Farms and clearly representing Shelburne Farms to the public. This position plays a key role in the Development Operations team, fulfilling each step of the gift entry and acknowledgement process.

We are currently seeking Farm Based Educators with exceptional guest service skills to work in the Children’s Farmyard. The farmyard is an outdoor educational space that is open to the public and school groups seven days a week, May through October. The goal of this public program is to educate and connect visitors to agriculture in a safe, engaging, and hands-on environment. We are seeking a friendly and dedicated Front Desk Attendant to join our team at the Shelburne Farms Inn. You are passionate about the Farm’s mission and committed to providing exceptional service to our guests. You will be the first point of contact for visitors at the inn, ensuring a warm and welcoming experience.

You’ll support one of our many tangible expressions of the Farm’s mission and goals by collaborating with other farm operations in producing, aging, packaging and shipping our excellent cheddar cheese.  The cheese team is integral to supporting a healthy local food system and providing an inspiring farm-based campus for learning for the Farm’s various programs and activities.

We are seeking tractor shuttle drivers to safely transport farm visitors from the Welcome Center to the Farm Barn while creating a welcoming and informative experience for guests. As part of our visitor experience team, tractor shuttle drivers orient guests to the Farm Barn and the entirety of Shelburne Farms. 

The Market Garden is seeking a motivated individual to join our team for the 2026 growing season. We operate a 7-acre certified organic market garden that produces mixed vegetables, herbs, berries, flowers, and eggs. We work in a production-based setting, but serve as a resource for the educational programs at the Farm. Our products are sold at our year round farm store and to our seasonal on site restaurant as well as donated to the community.

Seeking motivated individuals looking to get involved in the local community and local agriculture, who are welcoming and love to learn new things, and who have an interest in or passion for Shelburne Farms. 

The Lead Farm Cart Line Cook, will lead the daily operations of the Farm's Food Truck, serving as the primary liaison between the Farm Cart team and the main kitchen at the Inn. This role will not only share the food we grow and raise but also mentor staff, manage inventory, and ensure the highest standards of service and sustainability. This person is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about our mission to strengthen local food systems.

The Line Cook at the Farm's food truck prepares and serves simple and nutritious lunches and snacks, showcasing products produced here at the farm and by other local producers. As you'll be working at the hub of the farm, you'll also have the opportunity to engage with visitors about their meals, sharing information about the farm's mission and sustainable food practices.
