Welcome, preK–12 and non-formal educators! The Shelburne Farms Institute for Sustainable Schools offers transformative programs and resources for you and your students to help inspire an emerging generation of changemakers.

Our Approach

Education for Sustainability links knowledge, inquiry, and action while cultivating a sense of joy and wonder for the world around us. Our offerings for you–and for your students–focus on equity-centered food systems and climate change education, community and place-based learning, and youth engagement and action to help learners build healthier communities and a healthier planet, now and in the future.

In Your Words

I think of Shelburne Farms as an incubator. It allows us educators to hatch our ideas, but also to have a place where you can gather. For many teachers, there's a need for community, for connection. That's one of the reasons I value Shelburne Farms so much.
