Borderlands 1001 Nights with Moon

Friday and Saturday nights September 19-20 and 26-27, and October 3rd.
Borderlands is a sound-and-light illuminated forest production that takes place along a trail at Shelburne Farms. The story is a retelling of 1001 Nights, where an evil king is transformed by the power of Raza, the storyteller. Telling tales from around the world, Raza is able to confront a powerful man and convince him away from his path of cruelty. For, in the end, each person has the ability to create their own narrative.
Borderlands is centered around a professionally acted radio-style play. The score, composed by Kristin Marchilena, uses cultural source recordings from the Smithsonian collection. Each story is artistically illuminated with projections on screens that are tucked in among the trees of the forest.
This story is appropriate for all ages; it will resonate at different levels for different people. The 80-minute performance is best experienced after dark.
As always, Borderlands proceeds support the scholarship fund at Treewild Forest Classroom, Enchantment Camps and Shelburne Farms youth programming.
