Fall Pasture Walk

Adult Programs
man in cap and flannel shirt facing away from camera talking to four people (long pants, short sleeves), all standing in a grass pasture.

Step off the trail and into the pasture to discover what’s happening in the 700 acres of grassland across Shelburne Farms. Get to know pasture species: from the large trees sequestering carbon in our silvopasture system to plants that feed our beef, sheep, and dairy herds (offering habitat to other species, too). Take this 1.5 mile walk from the Farm Barn to the dairy to chat with Dairy Farm Manager Sam Dixon, followed by a ride back to the Farm Barn for a taste of our farm products. Bring your questions, any tools you like to use for observing the land around you, and warm, dry clothing and footwear for 2 hours outdoors. (Mobility accommodations available.)
