Hi Vera,

Thank you for this inspiring story about the Food Project program. I am reminded of the old familiar adage that: 'Life began in a Garden'. Perhaps we can add to that now and say that that is where Education began, too. Education is vital to everyones intellectual and social growth. It begins with a commitment to our youth; to teach them to understand, reflect, reason, and encourage them become lifelong learners. What better classroom than a Garden to begin teaching the fundamental virtues of sharing, empathy, and above all, learning to live and work together as equals.

Our son Henry worked with The Food Project for ten years and it changed the course of his life. The Food Project becomes family and its mission is so critical. A day on the farm in Lincoln with the youth crews will be a memorable day in your life that will lift your spirits. Your support will be appreciated.
