Herbal Tea Party with Spoonful Herbals

Adult Programs
tea mixture

Celebrate and savor the delicate flavors of summer with Spoonful Herbals and “Afternoon Teatime” overlooking the lake and flower gardens from the North Porch of the Inn! Local herbalists Katherine Elmer and Kara Buchanan will provide delicious herbal infusions and artisan sweet baked goods (gluten free available) featuring locally grown or wild-crafted medicinal plants. There will be a brief introduction to the art and science of herbal tea blending for flavor and healing benefits.

Spoonful Herbals is the collaborative effort of community herbalists and educators Katherine Elmer and Kara Buchanan. Spoonful offers an annual Herbal CSA, which includes three seasonal herbal self-care packages with convenient share pickup at Railyard Apothecary. Spoonful also runs a 6-month Community Herbalism Apprenticeship program where students learn how to identify, harvest, and create remedies from native and locally-grown medicinal herbs. Spoonful’s Herb Mob program engages volunteers to bring locally harvested (gleaned) medicinal plants into our apothecary from local organic farms and green spaces such as Shelburne Farms.
