Farm-Based Education Network Gathering
Educator Programs
The Farm-Based Education Network will convene for two days of hands-on learning, discussion, and connection at Shelburne Farms. This gathering will bring together approximately 100 people to engage in big questions, like “why is farm-based education important,” and to share with each other through workshop presentations, meals, and peer-to-peer discussion.
Agenda highlights include:
- Workshop sessions on youth leadership through farming; balancing production and education; non-violent communication; multigenerational educational farms; teaching with chickens, and more
- Processing seeds to restock the Vermont Garden Network's community seed bank
- Rest to Digest yoga practice
- Felted flower and bead making and other farm crafts
The gathering (program and accommodations) is offered at no cost due to funding from the US Department of Agriculture.
