Celebrating Sustainability with Cultivating Pathways

What do a peace mural, a gravel wetland, and a mindfulness club have in common? All were projects developed by youth this year to advance sustainability in schools and communities around Vermont.

Over the past year, teams of youth and adults from seven Vermont schools learned about the UN's Sustainable Development Goals and implemented projects to make progress on these goals as part of Cultivating Pathways to Sustainability, a program offered by Shelburne Farms Institute for Sustainable Schools and UP for Learning.

On May 19, more than 100 students and educators gathered on the State House Lawn for a celebration of learning. Watch the video above to hear students describe the projects in their own words.
